Women Deacons…

…have their own ordination, which has nothing to do with Holy Orders.

Being a priest is for men.

Female deacons are married or (lay) consecrated women with a vocation to form, guide, teach and support girls and women. They report to the Bishop and work in parishes, schools, charities. They are a bridge between the Bishop, the Catholic community and the community at large. The work of a female deacon include the tasks of a catechist, a mediator, a spiritual director, an ombud. They attend important meetings with priests, vicars and Bishops alongside women, as a support and witness.
