Laïcité – French Secularism

I became Catholic in good faith in 2017 in Canada only to discover the all-male hierarchy are still debating whether or not women are human.

Is it time for Ontario to follow Quebec’s example and end the raising of young people into a misogynist tradition?

Watch the video below at about the 43 minute mark where Phyllis Zagano tells viewers about Pope Francis saying “we need a theology of the woman”. And Russ Petrus at 50:47 saying he “draws a direct line at how women are treated in society and how the Catholic Church treats women.”

Quebec ended Catholic and Protestant schools in 1997, and Newfoundland followed in 1998.

How can Ontario end Catholic misogyny? The Bilateral Amending Procedure of Section 43 of the 1982 Constitution Act is how Quebec and Newfoundland ended religious education. A resolution was passed by both the House of Commons and the Senate, as well as the Legislative Assembly of the province in question and voila – religious indoctrination is over. Ontario students, both boys and girls, are educated free from sexist ideology. Women are more than wombs; we are fully human. It’s time to uplift science-based education and place religious formation where it belongs; in churches or private schools, for those who want it.

Reading List on ending Catholic schools in Ontario:

“At issue is not whether such schools should exist but whether the rest of us should continue to pay for them.”
