Zoom call Spring 2021 with an Ontario Catholic theologian who knew ‘the priests in grey’

This person is a theologian who knows the Peterborough Diocese and reached to me about my Facebook posts. We had two Zoom calls and you can read more about what he said below the image. There were a lot of people who had warnings or misgivings about the Diocese; how can this be allowed to be the norm? Bishop Bourgon tried to help and the powers-that-be threw him (and me) under the bus.

He also said baptism is a grace, and no one is worthy. There is no test to pass before being baptized.

He said if I had things on my conscience before baptism, there are ways to deal with that.

Me: I guess the practice confession right before I was baptized really wasn’t kosher.

This theologian also said if lay people get uppity we get smacked down.

Me: WTF? I didn’t sign up for that.
